CHEEKY CHIPMUNKS
Chipmunks are amazing cute animals that are fascinating to look at. They are curious and are easy to feed from a hand. In fact, the Chipmunk is an interesting sight for hikers and people who enjoy walking in forested areas taking pictures. The species is very brave and does not show any timidity when approached. Chipmunks can be seen in forested areas and live usually in burrows. They have to find an appropriate shelter from predators, which are many.

Chipmunks are well distributed throughout the United States and Canada. You will never find the species in prairie areas or subtropical forests. However, it is a frequent sight in many other habitats including mountainous areas. In some parts, the species is so abundant that it is considered a pest. As a matter of fact, the Chipmunk causes much damage to wildlife and has to be managed.

Chipmunks - Appearance

Anyone who has ever seen a Chipmunk is sure to have easily recognized it by light and dark stripes that stretch along the head and back. Chipmunks resemble some species of squirrels yet have peculiar characteristics that help to distinguish them from these small mammals. As a rule, the Chipmunk is smaller in size and has prominent stripes on the head. The species has a very distinct dark stripe on the back with a few smaller ones.
